The Rockwell Museum of Western Art

Rockwell Museum Personnel - 10/27/2013

The group's visit to the Rockwell was a special treat as the Museum's feature attraction was the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC's exhibit of "THE GREATEST PHOTOS OF THE AMERICAN WEST. "  The Rockwell was one of only 10 museums across the country to host this exhibit, a collection of iconic images of the West captured over 125 years by National Geographic photographers. The exhibit ran from Oct. 27 to Sept. 15.

Our retirees were greeted by a delightful array of  refreshments and by Museum personnel who discussed the Museum and the special exhibit they were about to experience.  We were split into four groups each led by a docent who took us through the exhibit halls to view the photos and their accompanying information in an easy, leisurely manner.

As if the treat of seeing so many great photos weren't enough, upon leaving the Museum each retiree was given a copy of the Museum's coffee table book, "The American West – People, Places and Ideas."  It was a special morning well spent and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
